Tisha was born in the South but grew up in Chicago. She first learned about ICI when she brought one of her three children—a daughter who attended school near the program—to an ICI club. One of the staff members invited her to church but she was hesitant. Going to church meant that she would have to face up to her mom who was a Jehovah Witness. But she was encouraged by the words of the staff member who said, “If God wants you there, you will be there,” and she went anyway. Tisha was saved and baptized and became an intern with ICI. Today she serves as a full-time Program Assistant.
